Electrochemical technology for high pressure hydrogen and oxygen generation
Electrochemical technology of hydrogen generation and created on the basic of it the high pressure electrolyser, which allow to use substandard electricity, which generated by consumption of renewable energy sources, energy of wind and sun to generate ecological clear energy carrier – hydrogen and gaseous oxygen. Design is used for industrial units, where hydrogen used as technological product (chemical, metallurgy, food industry, etc.) or as clear energy carrier (energy, transport , communal sphere).
Energy saving technology of electrochemical hydrogen and oxygen generation, has been developed, with electrode material of metal with variable valence, which makes it possible to reduce power to production 1m³ of hydrogen to 3,85 ÷ 4,1 kW per hour (conventional alkaline electrolysers have energy at 4,3 kW per hour for 1 m³). Technologically achievable interval of gas pressure is 0,1-50,0 MPa at a range of operating temperatures of the process of electrolysis 350 ÷ 423 K. The proposed construction allows for a given performance electrolyzers, by combining a number of modules in a single unit.
The main features of the development is the use chemical activity electrodes and the separation in time and space electrolytic water decomposition processes and the generation of hydrogen and oxygen. Working gas pressure is limited to boundary solubility of gases in the electrolyte and the strength of basic parts and fittings. In its technical level, ease of installation and maintenance, reliability and safety of the proposed system outperforms existing counterparts.
