Autonomous catalytic generator of hydrogen from biological raw materials
|
|
Area of application
Brief description
The project aims to develop catalysts and a portable reactor for heterogeneous-catalytic conversion of bioethanol for its use as an autonomous hydrogen generator for the operation of hydrogen fuel cells
Expected results
Determination of the composition and method of preparation of catalysts and conditions for obtaining the hydrogen with required purity by catalytic steam reforming of bioethanol in a portable reactor for autonomous hydrogen-based energy supply systems and low-temperature fuel cells based on renewable sources of raw materials.
Advantages
Autonomous catalytic hydrogen generator provides the possibility of hydrogen production on the basis of renewable raw materials (bioethanol) as an alternative to processes using fossil fuels, in particular methane. The proposed catalysts are capable of providing a high degree of ethanol conversion and selectivity for hydrogen production, contain no noble metals, have a carbonization resistance and do not require additional hydrogen costs for the reduction of the active metal phase.
Competitor
Project development
It were developed the prospective initial catalytic systems based on ferrites Mg, Mn and Fe, which are characterized by thermal stability of the oxide phase, have shown significant catalytic activity and selectivity in the process of hydrogen production by steam reforming of liquid oxygenates derived from biomass.
