Catalysts for biogas reforming
|
Catalyst on ceramic monolith |
Scheme of methane/biogas tri-reforming |
Area of application
Chemical, bio-, petrochemical and processing industries, the agrarian sector for the processing of natural and biogas to the synthesis gas for the subsequent production of ammonia, methanol, diethyl ether, Fischer-Tropsch syntheses as well as for high-temperature solid oxide fuel cells
Brief description
Catalysts on heat-resistant ceramic matrices of honeycomb structure (low gas-dynamic resistance) with low content of active components (Ni – 4÷5 % мас.) and modifying additives (rare earth oxides, 1 wt. %) provide reforming of C1-C4 alkanes in an energy efficient autothermal mode with the participation of О2, Н2О, СО2 (500 – 800°С) producing synthesis gas with a regulated H2/CO ratio from 1 to 3 for the producing a wide range of industrially important organics, autonomous energy supply systems fuelled with renewable feedstock
Expected results
The developed nanostructured catalysts and the proposed technological solutions will provide high-output production of hydrogen fuel from biogas as feedstock in the methane conversion module of high-temperature fuel cells
Advantages
Compared with analogues, the developed catalysts, providing high output, have a significantly lower content of active components;
do not contain noble metals;
are resistant to catalytic poisons (sulfur) and high temperatures;
have low gas-dynamic resistance which reduces operating costs
Competitor
Haldor Tops∅e
State of development
Custom-made industrial designs are manufactured, licensing of production is carried out
