VO "Material Science of Advanced Materials"
VO "Material Science of Advanced Materials" is created on the initiative of the Frantsevich Institute for Problems
of Materials Science of NAS of Ukraine for solving of the problems of development and introduction of new perspective
materials. The purpose of the VO "Material Science of Advanced Materials" is to carry out effective computational experiments in grid
environment on macro-, meso- and microstructure levels to solve actual problems of development by community of material scientists
of the institutes of the NAS of Ukraine and universities of new perspective materials (nanostructure materials, high entropy multicomponent
alloys, ceramo -ceramic composites etc.).
Works on multiscale modeling of composite materials behaviour during nanoindenting, intensive static
and dynamic stress and actions; new materials syntesis computer modelling, investigation of electronic, magnetic, mechanical properties
of non-organic nanoobjects: graphenes, nanotubes, nanoribons, nanodiamonds and composites on their basis; eutectic alloys directed
crystallization and their thermal and mechanical properties modelling; ab initio calculations of mechanical properties of new class of
materials - high entropy polyatomic alloys etc. are carried out in the institute.
The Virtual Organization "Material Science of Advanced Materials" is open for institutes and organizations
which have with us common projects and interests in filed of material science.
Priority activities of the VO "Material Science of Advanced Materials":
- Ensure the performance of projects of the State target science and technology programe for introduction and implementation of grid-technologies in 2009-2013, and also performance of scientific working plans of the Institute of Material Science of I.N.Frantsevich of NAS of Ukraine, institutes and organizations which are members of VO.
- Provide an access to UNG resources to the memebers of the VO «Material Science of Advanced Materials».
- Adapt existing software packages and develop specialised software as for applied material science problems so for GRID to perform computational experiments needed for a quality scientific investigations.
- Improve, unify, develop and introduce a distributed data bank of material science area of scientific research.
- Control observance of rules of grid usage, central UNG management requirements and grid-websites administrators' recommendations by members of the VO «Material Science of Perspective Materials».
- Perform other functions according to the tasks and purposes of creation of the VO «Material Science of Advanced Materials».
- Implement the system of grid users - VO members support.
- Participate in national and international projects corresponding to scientific directions of the VO.
- Involve additional resources to perform the VO scientific projects.
- Coordinate the VO members activities.
- Coordinate the VO activity with coordinating (BCC) and management bodies of UNG and sign neccessary agreements with UNG coordinators and members to achieve its goal and garantee the execution of common obligations.
- Develop informational materials for the VO propaganda and promotion.
