UNIT FOR PRODUCING POWDERS OF COPPER AND ITS
The Unit consists of an atomization chamber with a tundish, an electric motor, a disk with impact blades, a container for water, and a pump for cooling impact blades. The installation has been used in industry since 1997. Specifications:
Advantages (against traditional units for atomization by water):
Quality of powders (produced using the Unit): The apparent density of powders, for example, bronze Br SnZnPb-555 is in the range 3.2-3.4 g/cm3. The content of fractions under 44 um does not exceed 23-25%, which allows one to use such powders for production of articles in automatic presses just upon sieving, without preliminary heat treatment in furnaces, which additionally reduces the prime cost of the products. Moreover, the longevity of the press equipment without scoring as well as a high quality and good appearance of articles produced are provided. For comparison: after atomization by water, the apparent density of Br SnZnPb-555 powders is 3.5-3.8 g/cm3, which significantly worsens their mouldability and complicates work with press equipment. The Unit also provides industrial production of nickel-containing bronzes Br Sn10 powders and other copper alloys. The Unit completed with automatic presses and a furnace for sintering provides manufacture of small-sized self-lubricating bearings for devices, home appliances, etc. The Unit completed with equipment for knurling and sintering onto a steel tape provides manufacture of bimetallic large-sized bearings for metallurgy, rail transport, mechanical engineering, etc. Unit for producing powders using method of impact atomization of melts can be made for different variants of melting furnaces, for example, with volume of crucible up to 500 kg, up to 150 kg and up to 70 kg. The developer provides the manufacture and delivery of the Unit, advisory participation in the course of designing an industrial site, chief assembling, start-up and adjustment of the equipment as well as in obtaining pilot batches of powders of required quality.
