Research interests

  • Formation mechanisms of highly pure phases of individual borides of rare earth elements (REEs) and solid solutions based on them with isotopic and natural boron in poly- and single crystal forms.
  • Revision of the elements of the accepted REE - Boron phase diagrams; analysis of the existence of homogeneity regions of individual REE borides with various structural types.
  • Development of processes for growing high-purity perfect single crystals of REE borides with a definite crystallographic orientation as objects for studying the fundamental physical properties and crystal structure of this group of compounds in a wide range of temperatures and magnetic fields depending on the orientation and composition, in particular, clarifying the role of the isotopic composition of boron on the distortion of the crystalline structure.
  • Studying the perfection of the real structure of grown REE borides single crystals of various structural types depending on the parameters of the crystallization process and the influence of the real structure on the physical properties of these model compounds
