Abstract

The optical properties of thin transparent NiO films obtained by the chemical method on the surface of silicate glass, namely the transmission coefficient in the ultraviolet and visible ranges was investigated. It was shown that obtained films had complete absorption in the wavelength range 180—310 nm, partial absorption in the range of 320—400 nm and sufficient light transmission in the visible range of 400—800 nm. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that the film composition was represented by nickel monoxide (II) with chemical purity by nickel was 99,4%. The obtained coating has sufficient mechanical strength, and the proposed technology can be used to create a UV protective coating on products made of oxide, including silicate glass of any shape and size.
