Abstract

A comparison of two variants of the packaging of fiber fragments in models of unidirectional fibrous materials has been performed. When packing in the first embodiment, any two fibers that have a common interface along the side surfaces have a maximum overlap. When packaging in the second embodiment, the mutual overlap of the fibers in a bundle of central fiber and its surrounding fibers is maximum relative to each other and relative to the central fiber. Both packaging options are considered in models with 3, 4 and 6 fibers surrounding the central fiber. It has been established that the first variant of fiber packaging is preferable for the model with six fibers surrounding the central fiber, and the second variant is preferable for the model with three fibers.
