Abstract

The paper examines the effect of chemical treatment of synthetic diamond micropowder and pulsed high-voltage electric discharge treatment on the mechanical and physicochemical characteristics, magnetic fraction composition, and separation characteristic of the powder, as well as effectiveness of micropowder distribution in the magnetic field. It is shown that treatment of molten sodium hydroxide leads to a slight decrease in the specific surface area and energy state of the powder, and pulsed high-voltage electric discharge treatment leads to increase in the specific surface area of the powder and activation of its energy state, improving the effectiveness of powder distribution in the magnetic field.
