Abstract

The effect of the amount of chromium diboride additions in NiAl intermetallide on the corrosion resistance of composites in a 3% NaCl aqueous solution, simulating sea water by anodic polarization curves is studied. It is demonstrated that the introduction of more corrosion-resistant components (chromium diboride) into NiAl intermetallide has no significant effect on the durability of such composites in sea water. The basic mechanisms of corrosion processes in the developed composite materials in corrosive aqueous medium are established.
