Abstract

The possibility of increasing the corrosion resistance of composite electrolytic and galvanophoretic coatings under thermal treatment is studied. The corrosion behavior of the coatings in 3% NaCl solution under various conditions of heat treatment in 3% NaCl solution is analyzed. It is established that the thermal treatment of composite electrolytic Ni–B and Ni–Ti coatings has no effect on the corrosion resistance of the electrolytic coating itself or coating placed on the substrate. At the same time, the galvanophoretic Ni–B–Mo2C coating after thermal treatment at 1100ºC shows high corrosion resistance owing to the obliteration of porosity during liquid-phase sintering.
